Foreign transcript
The document an assessment actually reads. Subject names, credits and grading scales carry the detail a diploma only summarises — and most of that detail lives on the reverse side.

A transcript lists the subjects studied, the credits carried and the grades obtained. Where a diploma says that a degree was awarded, the transcript says what it consisted of — which is why recognition procedures rely on it more heavily than on the diploma itself.
⭐ The grading scale is the point
An assessment compares your results against a Turkish frame, and it cannot do that without knowing what your marks mean. A scale running to a different maximum, a pass mark set at a different level, a credit hour defined differently — all of it changes the reading.
That information is usually printed on the reverse side or on an accompanying key, and it is frequently the page people forget to send.
Send everything
Every page, every reverse side, and any explanatory sheet issued with it. A page that looks blank apart from a stamp in the corner is still part of the document.
⚠ A translation missing the scale is incomplete, and incomplete is the usual reason a recognition file is returned rather than refused.
Certification
Apostille in the country that issued the transcript, then sworn Turkish translation. Recognition files expect notarial certification; work permit files may accept less. Ask for your own procedure — see diploma recognition for employment.
Send it with the diploma
Diploma, transcript and supplement share terminology: faculty names, degree titles, subject descriptions. Translated separately they drift apart, and an assessor comparing two documents that name the same faculty differently will query it.
Electronic transcripts
Many institutions now issue transcripts electronically, verified by a code rather than a signature. Whether such a document can be apostilled, and whether the Turkish institution accepts it, are two separate questions and both are worth asking early.
Partial study
Where a programme was not completed, a transcript still evidences what was studied and can matter for credit transfer or for explaining a gap. It is treated the same way as any other transcript.
Where it fits
The award document is on foreign diploma, and the explanatory annex on diploma supplement.
Frequently asked questions
Because the assessment compares your marks against a Turkish frame and cannot do so without knowing what they mean.
Yes. The scale and credit explanations are usually printed there.
Yes. They share terminology and translating them separately lets it drift.
Ask whether it can be apostilled and whether the institution accepts that form.
The transcript still evidences what was studied and is handled the same way.
