Turkish trade registry documents

Registry extracts, activity certificates and signature circulars. Turkish institutions read them as issued; the work begins when a foreign counterparty, bank or tender authority asks for them.

Registry and standing documents describe a present state and are expected to be recent

Turkish companies evidence themselves through registry and chamber documents: registration and standing certificates, activity certificates, and the notarial signature circular showing who may sign.

Inside Türkiye

All of it is read as issued. Banks, tax offices, counterparties and tender authorities here need no translation, and a foreign-owned company pays for nothing on this account.

⭐ Sending them abroad

The chain runs outward: the document is Turkish, the apostille comes from the Turkish authority, and the translation is into the receiving country’s language.

⚠ Ask the receiving party what it actually needs first. A foreign bank asking for “company registration documents” may mean a registry extract, an activity certificate, the articles, or all three — and each is obtained from a different place.

Names do not translate

Foreign counterparties frequently ask for a document by a name used in their own system. The Turkish equivalent is rarely a direct match, so describe what the document must evidence to the chamber or registry rather than naming a foreign form.

The signature circular

This one is notarial rather than registry-issued, and it evidences who may sign and with what authority. Foreign banks read it closely and apply it literally — see signature circular for foreign directors.

Freshness

Registry and standing documents describe a present state. Receiving parties expect a recent one, so obtain them against the transaction rather than keeping copies in reserve.

Non-Convention destinations

Where the receiving country is not party to the Hague Convention, consular legalisation replaces the apostille and the sequence is considerably longer — see documents from non-Hague countries.

Circulation documents

Origin and movement certificates used in trade are pre-printed multilingual forms. They are not translated, and a request to translate one usually means something has been misread upstream.

Documents for a foreign tender

Where these documents are going into a tender abroad, that tender’s own specification governs which ones are required and how they must be certified — and it sets a deadline that does not move.

Count backwards through the sequence: obtain, apostille, translate, certify, courier. Each step is quick alone, none of them runs at weekends, and the whole chain is the reason tender bundles are prepared weeks rather than days ahead.
