Translation for work permit applications
The one file where notarisation is often not required. Work permit legislation accepts a sworn translator's certification or an official authority's — and assuming otherwise is a cost nobody asked you to pay.
In brief
- Certification level
- Yeminli tercüman imzası + Noter onayı
- Estimated time
- Planned against the employer's filing date
Work permits are applied for by the employer, through the ministry’s electronic system. The employee supplies the documents that need translating; the company’s own documents do not.
⭐ The certification standard is lighter here
Work permit legislation accepts a translation certified by a sworn translator or by an official authority. It does not require notarisation of every document the way residence permit rules do.
People who have been through a residence file arrive expecting to notarise everything and are prepared for a cost that may not apply. We check item by item rather than applying one regime’s rule to the other — see work permit application.
Which documents we translate
- Diploma and transcript, with reverse sides
- Professional certificates where the role requires them
- Passport, where it is not in the Latin alphabet
- Employment references from abroad, where the file uses them
⚠ The employer’s side — trade registry records, tax and social security documents, the Turkish employment contract — is Turkish and is never translated.
Reverse sides matter
Grading scales, credit explanations and faculty stamps are usually printed on the back of a diploma or transcript. A translation without them reads as incomplete, and incomplete is the usual reason a file is returned rather than refused.
Apostille comes first
Qualifications are apostilled in the country that issued them, before translation. If yours have not been, tell us before sending anything else — work done here on an unapostilled document does not advance the file.
Recognition may come before the permit
For regulated professions, formal recognition of the qualification is generally settled first, and it uses the stricter notarised standard. It is also the slowest step in the chain, so it is worth checking before anything else.
Working with employers
Where a company files several permits, we translate the set as one batch so that institution names, degree titles and job titles are rendered consistently across every employee’s file — see corporate and law firm services.
